R J Smyth Engineering Ltd is currently completing a number of packaged prefabricated pump skids for JF Andrews.   The Grundfos pumps are mounted on a stainless steel skid pre-piped complete with isolating valves, non-returns and expansion vessel all of which result in faster, easier field installation.  The skids are to be installed in a number of water treatment facilities in the south of England.

Pipe Prefabrication

R J Smyth Engineering Ltd is pleased to be working on yet another prefabrication project for Harvey Group.  This project involves the prefabrication of gas, heating and condenser pipe work from CHP plantroom within the Titanic signature building.  This initial contract involves the prefabrication of pipe work totaling 480mtrs ranging from 100mm to 200mm pipe.

Norbev Ltd Contract Bottlers Mix Room Project

R J Smyth Engineering has recently begun another project for Northern Beverages.  The project involves design and installation of steam and hot water services along with new process heat exchanger.  Fabrication and installation of new stainless steel access platform is also part of the mechanical package.

Pritchitts Drains Installation

Towerview Rescource Centre

R J Smyth Engineering has recently completed mechanical installation on behalf of Simpson and Crawford Consulting for Health and Social Care at Towerview Resource Centre Newtownards .  The project involved strip out of existing services and reinstate as new along with new low surface temperature radiators.  The contract included all builders work involved in the installation.  The contract was completed within a tight programme and within budget.  The quality service provided by R J Smyth Engineering Ltd was commended by both client and consulting engineers.

Moneykee Business Complex Irvinstown

R J Smyth Engineering is currently completing plumbing and heating installation within Moneykee Business Complex Irvinstown.  The complex’s plumbing and heating system was severally frost damaged in the recent cold weather spell.  The contract consists of replacing complete heating and water lines within the office and factory floor areas complete with new oil fired boiler and hot water heaters.

Daisyhill Hospital Newry

 R J Smyth Engineering Ltd is pleased to have completed yet another major pipe prefabrication & installation project.  This project was completed at Daisy Hill Hospital Newry on the behalf of Scoffield Building Services NI.

The contract consisted of replacing the main Hospital steam heating boilers with 4 number new LTHW natural gas boilers, installation of 2 number replacement plant rooms,  welded underground  8” heating lines and clean steam installation from new steam generator.  All of which was completed without disturbing the existing heating distribution to the hospital.  All pipe work was prefabricated in R J Smyth Engineering’s fabrication shop to high specification x-ray standard.  The contract demanded the highest level of organisation and quality.  The finished product is a credit to all involved in the project.

PRONI Belfast

R J Smyth Engineering Ltd recently completed yet another prefabrication/pipe installation project for Harvey Group.  Pipe work was prefabricated and installed within the main boiler house consisting of 2No natural gas fired boilers, wood pellet boiler and buffer vessel.  Roof top chiller pipe work was also installed along with fabricated natural gas pipe line.

Bore Hole Project

R J Smyth Engineering Ltd recently completed mechanical installation for Northern Inovation for bore hole pipe work at Brett and Martin site Mallusk.

The work consisted of installing heat exchanger, pump sets and all associated pipe work.  The bore hole water is now used to save energy to chill the water to the desired process temperature.

R J Smyth Engineering Ltd recently completed mechanical installation in Knockonney Baptist Church.  The installation consisted of new heating circuits and domestic hot water installations.  The baptismal pool is also heated through a plate heat exchanger pumped by a self priming pump.  Due to the limited space in boiler house a great deal of carefull planning was carried out so that all services would fit into the small area in a tidy accessable arrangment.  The end result was a success.

Skillbuilds aim is to promote and build a skills respect culture by celebrating skills excellence, inspiring young people and providing them with an opportunity to showcase their skills and talent.  Craft competitions are a wonderful way for young apprentices to become inspired and motivated.
